Job Description:

Cozens Johansen Lawyers is offering opportunities to law students or GDLP students to undertake work experience as our law clerk at our busy boutique law firm.

We have supported previous law students and GDLP students and offer one on one mentoring, a friendly and professional team, and quality supervision. Work experience at our firm contributes to the practical component of your GDLP and will expose you to a wide range of legal practice.

You will work with our lawyers on a range of matters including:
*Business and commercial law;
*Employment law;
*Mining and resource law;
*Wills and estates;
*Debt recovery;
*Commercial and civil disputes; and
*Local Court and Supreme Court litigation

You will have the opportunity to:
*Prepare applications, affidavits, statements of claim and other Court documents;
*Conduct legal research;
*Draft contracts and leases;
*Assist in drafting legal advice and correspondence;
*Handle legal documentation and filing;
*Prepare and conduct property conveyances including drafting land title documents;

Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic third or fourth year law student or a GDLP student who takes feedback well, has good communication skils, is proficient in research and has good attention to detail. We are able to take on law clerks on a part time or full time basis and are flexible around study requirements.
