ARB Corporation Ltd is an ASX 200 designer, manufacturer, distributor and retailer of premium four-wheel drive accessories. With headquarters in Kilsyth, Victoria, it has operations in Europe, North America, Thailand and the Middle East.

This role will handle the full spectrum of ARB’s legal requirements from commercial contracts and property leases to intellectual property and compliance with international and local laws. 


To work collaboratively with and provide a full spectrum of legal, risk and compliance services to ARB’s business units and functions to ensure the company complies with relevant laws and its rights are protected though the provision of sound legal guidance. There is a particular focus in this role on intellectual property and real property matters.

Organisational Structure

This is a permanent full-time role reporting to the Human Resources and Legal Manager.

Liaise as required with key internal stakeholders:

  • Senior Management Team
  • State Mangers and Branch Managers
  • International company leads
  • Purchasing and Engineering teams
  • Liaise as required with key external stakeholders including suppliers, customers and regulatory authorities.


  • Provide high quality and timely legal advice to the business, including emerging legal issues impacting the group
  • Apply for and maintain intellectual property registrations
  • Manage disputes with in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Review and negotiate general commercial contracts; manage issues arising under them
  • Manage commercial and legal risk with the group’s suppliers and service providers
  • Develop and refine key company polices
  • Provide advice and training on regulatory and compliance matters
  • Maintain template contracts eg for supply of goods, NDAs
  • Liaise with external legal services providers on matters such as litigation and patent applications
  • Draft and negotiate real property leases; manage leases through their lifecycle including rent reviews and disputes
  • Assist with location of and commercial negotiations for new properties for the company’s activities
  • Negotiate construction and fit out contracts. Prepare planning applications and or liaise with town planners.
  • Liaise with property consultants and internal stakeholders on property development projects to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

Skills and Attributes

We are looking for a commercially-minded lawyer who is admitted as a solicitor in one or more states of Australia. A minimum of three years PQE is required.

You will have strong technical legal skills and training, and will have strong drafting and negotiation skills.

This role will work closely with the business and will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to influence others by developing strong working relationships and delivering excellent commercial solutions to complex legal issues. 

You will exhibit common sense judgement and have a positive, proactive, problem-solving approach.

The role will require autonomous work and self-management of workflow and project timelines.
