The role:

We are looking for a Lawyer with between 1-3 years' PAE to join our Construction team in Sydney. This is an exciting chance to join a collaborative and vibrant practice, and become an integral part of the team.

You will be working closely with Partners and a team of experienced practitioners. This role represents a unique opportunity to work on a substantial pipeline of both front end transactional matters, and large scale litigation. Your work will involve acting for a range of developers, contractors and specialist sub-contractors, and on various development projects including commercial, industrial and residential developments and large infrastructure.

Your skills and experience:

Essential:

  • You are a keen and ambitious lawyer with up to 3 years' PAE working across either front or back end matters in private practice achieved in either litigation or transactional corporate work
  • Able to demonstrate critical analysis of contract positions
  • A working knowledge of Australian standard construction contracts and a thorough knowledge of relevant case law would be well-regarded
  • Familiarity with AS contracts
  • Willing to do both front and back end construction
  • Training in a private practice construction team

Desirable:

  • Has had carriage of matters with Partner supervision
  • Experience in advocacy work
  • You are conscientious in your work as well as client-focussed. In additional to possessing strong interpersonal skills, it is a given that you will have impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to effectively organise and prioritise your work.
