Job Description:

D & M Lawyers is a boutique law firm with offices based in Epping and Narre Warren. D & M Lawyers prides itself on its high level of service and offers a select amount of placement opportunities throughout the year to the right applicant. At present, there are currently two positions available for the right candidates to gain experience with our Epping based legal team.

As a PLT student you will have the opportunity to gain experience with a diverse and varied client base - predominantly in the areas of family law, immigration and conveyancing. You will have the opportunity to:

• Take detailed instructions from client phone enquires
• Shadow lawyers during court proceedings
• Sit in, observe and take notes during client appointments
• Undertake legal research
• Draft correspondence
• Assist in the preparation of briefs
• Review and organise client documents and files
• Filing, photocopying and ad hoc related tasks
• Support the office manager, lawyers and paralegals with their tasks

The ideal applicant must:

Be able to undertake placement for a minimum of 2-3 days a week (can negotiate)
Undertake a minimum of 50 days practical legal training
