Job Description:

We are looking for PLT students willing to participate in work-experience on a full-time or part-time basis. In this role, you will gain valuable experience while satisfying the practical experience requirements of your Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.  

The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, self-motivated and willing to learn. A permanent full-time opportunity is available upon completion of your PLT placement program.  

Duties:  

• Conduct legal research and preparing case summaries  
• Assisting our solicitors in drafting court documents and correspondence  
• Assisting solicitors at court attendance  
• Drafting legal documents and advice  
• Liaising with relevant parties, departments and authorities  
• General administrative tasks, including but not limited to file management, data entry and document filing  
• Attending settlement and filing at court   

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:  

• Be eligible to work in Australia   
• Have completed a law degree  
• Be currently completing professional legal education to gain admission to practice  
• Excellent attention to detail 
• Excellent research skills 
• Good computer and strong organization skills 
• Work independently and is self-motivated   
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
• A second language (e.g. Mandarin or Cantonese) is desirable but not mandatory
