About The Role

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Paralegal role is responsible for developing, implementing and managing various processes in support of the Legal and Risk Team in order to provide timely and effective legal, risk and audit services to all divisions within Horizon Power .

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Managing the accounts payment process following the engagement of external legal and accounting firms by the legal, risk and audit functions including liaising directly with the external firms and your colleagues within Horizon Power.
  • Undertaking discrete research tasks on behalf of the legal, risk and audit functions as required.
  • Coordinating Horizon Power’s response to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests as the FOI Coordinator (please note: FOI training will be provided).
  • Managing Horizon Power’s original documents register.
  • Preparing legal documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets for the legal, risk and audit functions.


About The Person

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-level administration support in a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Experience in managing billing processes within a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Proven verbal skills in liaising with clients and other businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written skills.
  • Experience in, and knowledge working with, legal documentation, particularly contacts.
  • Demonstrated research skills.
  • An advanced level of word processing, computer and keyboard skills including:
  • touch typing proficiency of 60 to 80 words per minute; and
  • experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, document management systems and electronic diary management in Outlook.
