Tyro is going through an exciting growth phase and we are looking to add a qualified Legal Counsel to the team.
Working closely with and reporting to our General Counsel, you will provide legal expertise to assist with commercial decision making by Tyro’s business divisions.
In this role, you will have a varied day and an abundance of learning opportunities.
What You'll Be Doing
Giving accurate and timely counsel to executives and business stakeholders, covering a variety of legal areas, including financial services, commercial contracting, privacy and intellectual property
Working closely with Tyro’s business units to optimise processes and increase efficiency
Reviewing and advising on commercial contracts and marketing materials
Monitoring developments in the legal and regulatory environment
Assisting in the development of policies, procedures and training programs for staff on relevant legal issues
Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
Communicating and negotiating with external parties and regulators
Engaging and managing external legal advisers
What We're Looking For
At least 4 years PQE
A current NSW practising certificate
An understanding of the financial services industry and relevant experience will be highly regarded
Proven in-house legal experience
Ability to manage competing priorities and escalations
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to provide commercially focused legal support
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to people in a range of positions
Interest in process improvement and efficiency (including adoption of technology-enabled solutions)
