About The Role

Supporting a Senior Legal Counsel and wider Legal team, you will be responsible for providing legal support to the Retail division on disputes and litigation. This will include the provision of advice across a broad range of areas including:

  • Litigation and disputes which includes legal issues on customer complaints, compliance and privacy matters including possible data breaches, franchising disputes and managing employment disputes with external counsel
  • Retail banking matters which includes Product (drafting terms and conditions and advising on new product launches, Marketing (approval of all marketing and advertising) and Franchising (documenting all franchising transactions including renewals, purchases, variations, hold overs and terminations and provides on-going support).

You will also be required to appropriately manage relationships with external counsel including cost management.

About You

This position requires you to be admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia and have proven experience in private practice. You will be ready for the next step in your career by joining an in-house Legal team who can provide the mentorship required to further grow and develop your skillset. As the Legal Counsel, you will be required to work autonomously as well as part of a close-knit team. Financial services experience would be advantageous but is not required.
