An excellent opportunity exists for a Legal Counsel to join the Legal & Licensing team within the Business Development Office.
About the position
The role of Legal Counsel is to work with the Institute’s scientists and BDO colleagues to prepare and negotiate legal agreements to support Institute research, with a focus on supporting those laboratories whose work is more clinically directed.
The appointee will also work closely with other members of the Legal & Licensing team to develop efficiencies in practice and procedure for supporting those laboratories.
The appointee will have a legal qualification and at least one year’s practical legal experience. Demonstrated familiarity with contracts and experience in drafting contracts is essential. Experience using databases and software is a further requirement. A technical background or tertiary qualification in biomedical science would be highly regarded.
Terms of appointment
This position is available for 3 years in a full time capacity. Salary is HEW 6 (82,321 – 89,108). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
