An exciting opportunity has become available within our Group Governance function for a Legal Counsel.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Legal, Risk & Compliance – Retail, you will provide high quality, independent-minded and commercially-focused legal services, aligned to the strategic and commercial drivers of the businesses within the Retail portfolio of private health insurance and banking.
While your role will focus primarily on our well-known private health insurance business, you will provide legal advice and support across the Retail portfolio in respect of contracts and transactions, consumer and privacy law matters, and in relation to government and regulatory requirements.
You will be an inquisitive and passionate lawyer with 3-5 years' PQE in dispute resolution, competition and consumer law gained either in-house and/or in private practice.
Exposure to private health insurance and/or financial services will be advantageous.
You will be a skilled communicator with the proven ability to influence stakeholders at varying levels and be able to resolve complex problems both strategically and commercially.
A current practicing certificate is essential.
You will be known for your capability to execute effectively with a client focussed delivery approach.
You’re truly a team player and with a desire to add to the team and organisational culture. You have a track record of bringing fresh thinking to the table and identifying greater ways to operate.
