We are currently seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to be based in our St Leonards, Sydney office, reporting to the General Counsel (APAC & EMEA Regions) who is based in our global headquarters located in Brisbane.
Salary package up to $120,000 (including superannuation) dependent on experience.
Your responsibilities include:
Reviewing contracts, providing independent legal advice and completing negotiation work to mitigate any potential legal risk to Cardno
Provide independent legal advice and recommendations across a breadth of legal issues including employment law advice, risk management, regulatory, privacy, IP, compliance and governance matters
Providing advice on lease agreements
Providing advise on commercial disputes and litigation
Supporting the General Counsel with project work as needed
To be successful you will:
Have graduate qualifications in Law.
Hold a current Australian practicing certificate or ability to immediately obtain a practicing certificate.
Experience as a practicing lawyer in a construction or engineering or litigation team, with prior inhouse experience being preferred but not essential for someone with a commercial mindset.
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision and be someone who is comfortable with taking ownership of tasks while managing deadlines that constantly change.
A high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in dealing with a diverse range of personalities.
